About / CV

I’m usually either in Minneapolis or Brooklyn. I am a Poetry and Writing Mentor for high school students through the program Teens Rock the Mic, supported by the Juno Collective and the Loft Literary Center. The program was chosen as an exemplary organization by the ‘Qualities of Quality: Excellence in Arts Education and How To Achieve It’ Project Zero Case Study program through the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In New York City, I was the Research Associate for the Democracy Foundation of America, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the principles of democracy through civic education projects.

My fiction writing has appeared in Image Comics’ ‘Negative Burn’ anthology (2.10) and the Act-i-vate online anthology (6/06). My short films have been exhibited as part of the Neubees Rider Project, an arts project supported by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and the Brooklyn Arts Council. My thesis film is on display at the Minneapolis College of Art + Design’s Online Gallery. I was a Photography Assistant for the New York Bridal Expo and a Sound Assistant/Operator for the musical recording for the children’s television show, ‘SeeMore’s Playhouse’. I held a variety of roles, including Production Manager, Editor, Animator, and Cinematographer, for television commercials produced in Long Island, New York and was the Assistant Editor/Operator for radio commercials produced in New York City.

I am currently working on a novella and finishing ‘The Wings of Juano Dioz’ graphic novel with artist Nikki Cook, due 2010 (?). My short comic, ‘Schrapnel’, with artist David Quady is finishing up on Chemistry Set Comics and will be replaced by a longer project, ‘Feckless’, with Adam Cadwell this fall.
